I considered what i would write about Andy but no one says it better than his Queen so I’m sharing Josie’s words. Please consider registering to become a donor, even if you don’t help Andy you could help someone else. <3
DJ A-DOG (aka Andy Williams), a master turntablist and party rocker from Burlington, Vermont has been a fixture in the underground Hip-Hop/DJ culture for more than 10 years. His musical diversity is displayed in each and every one of his performances, rocking audiences worldwide, blending & cutting up everything from jazzed out Hip-Hop grooves, Funk, Reggae, Soul, and Electro. A-Dog has toured with Mix Master Mike and has shared the stage with Snoop Dogg, The Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Damian Marley and many other underground & mainstream artists. He is also the most generous and positive person I know.
Andy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) on December 19, 2012. Because of his cytogenetics, he must have a bone marrow transplant in order to be cured, making it a life saving procedure for Andy. A global registry run by Be The Match connects patients with their donor match for a bone marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant. I urge you all to please consider becoming part of the Be The Match donor database and spreading the word to everyone you know. Even if you aren’t a match for Andy you could save someone elses life! (See link below)
Because of Andy’s ethnicity (Filipino/African Amercian) he is facing some unique challenges in finding a match, as are other people who are of mixed race. Currenty, only 4% of registered donors are of mixed race, creating an urgent need for these donors. Markers used in finding a match are inherited which means patients are more likely to match someone from their own ancestry. Adding more donors from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds to the Be The Match Registry increases the likelihood that all patients will find the match they need.
Registering is an easy & painless process of requesting a free cheek swab kit from Be The Match. You will then be in the global registry for patients that are in need, including Andy. About 1 in 540 people who join will become a bone marrow donor. With modern technology dontaing bone marrow is free, quick and easy.
Please follow this link to join the registry and give hope to people like Andy all over the world.
No matter what your ethnicity or background please consider joining the bone marrow registry, the more people that join the better the chance that Andy will find a match and be cured! Please register and spread the word as quickly as possible - this is a time sensitive process.

Can you see the guy on the antenna? He’s at the bottom of the second red section. #btv (Taken with Instagram at Competitive Computing (C2))
We close on our house in 11 days! I am so excited. I’m also going to miss laying in S’s bed with the windows open and listening to the waves break on the shore. This is the view from his room. (Taken with instagram)
I don’t know who asked this question, the account is gone but I’ll still answer. I love beer and food so my choices are dinner at Bluebird Tavern or Farmhouse Tap & Grill. If you want to go out and dance try Lift, Red Square or Metronome. Nectar’s & Radio Bean often have live local music and The Other Place (OP) and The Olde Northender are my favorite dive bars.
If none of this looks fun pick up the local alternative paper, 7 Days, and check out the calendar of events. Have fun!
PS There is good tacos, tequila & beer at El Cortijo.
